Keeping active can help prevent weight gain (or aid weight loss) and reduce the risk of major illness such as heart disease or cancer. This does not always mean going to the gym or taking up a team sport. Walking, cycling, swimming and even gardening can all contribute to the recommended activity level of 30 minutes on at least five days a week.
Providing support for those who want to be active is a key element of Energise Knowsley!, the strategy to prevent and treat obesity in the Borough.
The Energise Knowsley! website is under construction. Check the link below for progress or telephone the free helpline on 0800 027 0272.
